EIGHT
ENTRIES SUBMITTED FOR MMFFP SECOND BATCH
Three
of eight entries which were submitted
to the executive committee of the 2007
Metro Manila Film Festival will be selected
for the second batch of festival films
that will start showing on New Year’s
Day, January 1, 2008.
Six winning screenplays
have already qualified as the first batch
of films which will be shown at the beginning
of the filmfest on December 25.
The three winning entries
will be announced on June 28. The submitted
entries are the following:

Last year, the Metro Filmfest
started showing nine films simultaneously
on Christmas Day. There was an obvious
decline in the box-office during the second
week of the filmfest starting on New Year’s
Day. This was the main reason that the
executive committee decided to break up
the films into two batches.
The 2007 MMFFP executive
committee is hereby reminding producers
of these pertinent deadlines and dates:
June 18 to June 28—Reading
and selection of all the screenplays
submitted for the 2nd batch
June 28 (Thur)—Announcement
of official entries for the 2nd batch
November 20 (Tue)—Deadline
of submission of trailers of official
entries.
December 3 (Mon)—Deadline
of submission of finished film entries
of
the 1st batch (Dec. 25 showing).
December 10 (Mon)—Deadline
of submission of finished film entries
of
the 2nd batch (Jan.1 showing).
Deadline of submission
of graded (timed) prints of entries for
the 1st batch.
December 17 (Mon)—Deadline
of submission of graded (timed) prints
of entries for the 2nd batch.
Submission of joint certifications
with laboratories concerned that prints
needed to service the theaters assigned
to them shall be made available on time.
Submission of changes in the filmography
charts, such as names of the leading performers
and film genres.
December 17-21—Screening
of the official entries by the Board of
Jurors.
December 24—Parade
of Stars in Metro Manila.
December 25, 2007
to January 7, 2008—Showing
of official entries with first batch opening
on Dec. 25 and second batch opening on
January 1.
January 4, 2008—2007
MMFF-P awards night.
