The Chicago Filipino-American Film Festival 2008 has set a September 15 deadline for entries which must be works of rising talents from the Filipino-American independent scene in the U.S. as well as Philippine-based filmmakers.
Late entries may still be accepted up to October 1 but entries submitted on or before the September 15 deadline will receive priority consideration.
This years CFAFF will be held on November 7 to 9 at a new venue—the Portage Theater, a historic 1,300-seat venue in Chicago’s northwest side that was just renovated with a multi-million-dollar budget.
The 2008 festival is in its fifth consecutive year which will be celebrated with the presentation of awards to the best films in the following categories:
–Documentary (feature-length or short)
–Short film narrative
The music video category will include a cash grant of $1,000. Entries to this category must represent a collaboration between filmmakers and musical artists.
Friends, relatives or associates submitting films in behalf of filmmakers must include the direct address and contact information of the filmmaker himself or herself along with the submission materials in order to prevent problems in communicating directly with the filmmaker.
Entry forms, regulations, music video rules and other festival information can be found at www.cfaff.org
