The Film Academy of the Philippines received from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) the first tranche of its share of the amusement tax rebate during last year’s Metropolitan Manila Film Festival.
The Academy received a check for P800,000 last April 8.
The first tranche amounts for the years 2006 to 2014 were as follows: P800,000 (2006); P400,000 (2007); P400,000 (2008); P350,000 (2009); P600.000 (2010); P400,000 (2011); P400,000 (2012); P1 million (2013); and P1 million (2014).
The other beneficiaries which also received their first tranche of rebates were Mowelfund, the Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council, Inc., the Optical Media Board and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.
