Filipino films produced in 2006 to 2008 may be submitted to the forthcoming Kualu Lumpur International Film festival, a non-commercial event that will be open to public viewing.

Feature films, as well as documentaries, animation and short films, may qualify for the KLIFF 2008.

According to the submission guidelines issued by the KLIFF 2008 secretariat, preview copies of a feature film must be in DVD format though final copies should be in 35 mm film prints. The running time of feature films must be 70 minutes or more.

Documentaries, animated films and short films will have no running time limits.

Each entry just be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee which is non-refundable and may be paid in the form of money order, banker’s cheque payable in US dollars to Kuala Lumpur International film festival Sdn Bhd.

Interested applicants or filmmakers must take this step-by-step procedures:

–Print out the entry form from the website and complete and sign all papers, attaching mandatory accompanying materials to include two preview DVD copies labeled with the film title, running time and contact information. With entry fee, send to:

–Send photographs, press kits, posters, postcards and additional promotional materials in hard and soft copies (high resolution-jpg/peg file).

–If film is selected, filmmaker must provide the following: one screening copy in 35 mm format; press kits including photos in hard and soft copies; posters; postcards and other publicity materials. These must be submitted and addressed to:

All submitted films should be in the language of the country of origin with English subtitles if the original language is not English.

All films will be subject to the Malaysian Film Censorship Act prior to public screening.

Take note of these important dates:

August 12, 2008. Deadline for submission of participant’s entry forms, DVD and film publicity materials. Also deadline for payment of US $100 entry fee.

September 2, 2008. The latest date filmmakers will be notified of their selection.

September 5, 2008. All participating film prints (35 mm) must be received by the Secretariat Film Department.
