Five Metropolitan Manila cities have turned over to the Film Academy of the Philippines a total of P1,037,284.54 as the Academy’s 20 percent tax share on the 25-centavo Cultural Development Tax collected by movie houses.
The amounts of cultural tax shares were given to the Academy during the period April to July this year. They are as follows:
Manila turned over P474,982.09 covering the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 last April 17.
Pasig turned over P14,984.80 last June 17.
Quezon City turned over P185,028.00 covering July to December, 2014 last
Pasay turned over P244,922.30 covering October, 2014 to May 2015 last July 10.
Makati turned over P117,367.35 covering September 2014 to May 2015 last
Before these recent turnovers of shares, the total shares per city are as follows: Manila, P2,744,746; Pasig City, P48,533.79; Quezon, P14,428,153.36; Pasay City, P1,463,545.02 ; and Makati, P5,082,282.70;
Two other Metro Manila cities which also turned over cultural tax shares of the Academy are Mandaluyong, P1,147,420.74; and Caloocan City, P197,312.
