The winners in three categories of the 2014 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival were announced at the awards ceremonies held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on the last day of the filmfest on Sunday, August 10.

The winners included the following:

Best Supporting Actor – Nicco Manalo, The Janitor

Best Screenplay – Aloy Adlawan and Michael Tuviera The Janitor
Best Cinematography – Mycko David, Kasal
Best Production Design – Harley Alcasid, Kasal
Best Editing – Tara Illenberger, The Janitor
Best Musical Score – Richard Gonzales, Kasal
Best Sound – Mike Idioma, The Janitor

The 2014 Gawad Balanghai was awarded to Director Kidlat Tahimik, acknowledged as the father of Philippine Independent Cinema

The 10th Cinemalaya Filmfest was held in several venues with main activities at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The entries were also shown at Greenbelt 3, Trinoma Cinemas, Alabang Town Center and Fairview Terraces.
