Part 3 FAP AWARDS NIGHT
The long process of the FAP award selection culminates in the awards night where the result of the voting will be known. The trophies are concrete manifestations of the blood, sweat, and tears of the Citers, Nominators, and Voters.
The Cultural Center of the Philippines was the venue of the 2004 FAP awards night. Under the production group of actor Albert Martinez, it was a red carpet night with fans swarming outside the venue as early as 3:00 pm.

As promised by Albert, : “Binabraso ko na nga eh, artista sa artista ang usapan para hindi na dadaanan sa talent manager.” Talent managers, according to sources, automatically charge P10,000 for transportation only.
In lieu of the traditional talent fees, Albert and his team prepared loot bags for the invited celebrities. Professional photographers were also there to take photos of the celebrities for the souvenir program.

Seen in the black tie affair were rising primetime queen Angel Locsin, timeless beauty Gretchen Barretto, Katharine Luna, a nominee for her portrayal of Babae Sa Breakwater. couples Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, William Martinez and Yayo Aguila.
Also in attendance were Mowelfund Executive Director Boots Anson Roa, distinguished actress and beauty queen Pilar Pilapil, kontrabida par exellence Bella Flores, Luz Valdez, Marissa Delgado and the crush ng bayan Joyce Jimenez.

Also seen were character actors Gardo Versoza, Lloyd Samartino, Raymond Bagatsing, Yul Servo, actresses Jean Garcia, Vina Morales, Jennifer Sevilla and Direk Gina Alajar. Smiling for the camera was singer Mystica.

Film directors spotted were Romy Suzara, Arsenio “Boots” Bautista, FAP’s William Mayo, Gil Portes, Joel Lamangan, Baldo Marro, Nardz Belen, Bert Ortega, National Artist Eddie Romero and his namesake Eddie Garcia.
FAP member guilds were also in attendance particularly the guild presidents. Other invited guests were movie producers and, of course, the media people. The new FAP camera had a heyday in taking photos of the luminaries.

Magnifico collected the trophies for best picture, best director for Maryo J. Delos Reyes, best actor for Jiro Manio, best supporting actress for Gloria Romero, and best screenplay for Michiko Yamamoto.

The gallery of the Cultural Center’s main theater erupted in cheers when Maricel Soriano was named best actress for her portrayal in Filipinas. Eric Quizon bagged the best supporting actor statuette for his role in Crying Ladies.

Other winners were JA Tadena for best cinematography of Mano Po 2 – My Home, Albert Idioma for best sound of Malikmata, Vito Cajili for best editing of Malikmata, Lutgardo Abad for best musical score of Magnifico, Rodell Cruz for best production design of Mano Po 2 – My Home.

The affair ended with a dinner inside a tent in the CCP compound. For staging the successful FAP Awards 2004, the event producer paid 500,000 pesos to the Film Academy.
