The CineMabuhay project, bankrolled by a grant from the PLDT Corporation, is now accepting proposals for the production of digital films for P1 million each.
This was announced by Albert Martinez who explained that they will entertain and study each project through the submitted synopsis and proposed casting then choose five projects for production next year.
Martinez said that CineMabuhay is conceived as an institutionalized effort to discover young writers, producers and directors and afford them the chance to showcase their talents using, digital, video and high definition formats.
The PLDT Corporation, Martinez further explained, will lay a pivotal role in empowering the youth sector to make vital contributions to Filipino arts and culture and, in so doing, uplift the Filipino film industry.
“We are producing five diigtal films through the generosity of Mr. Manny Pangilinan,” Martinez said.
He also assured that these digital films will be shown at SM malls.
He added: “The eliminations are now ongoing. We start shooting by January, deliver by April and we are hoping to have them shown by July 14.”
The PLDT Corporation is giving P1 million to have each of the five films produced.
“Although we want to sponsor more upcoming talents next year, we can only produce five for a start,” Martinez said.
