MoWELFUND Executive Director Boots Anson Roa, Actors’ Guild Chairman Rez Cortez and PMPPA President Director William Mayo will face the press during the press conference on Friday, July 19 on the forthcoming FAP Day or general assembly on July 27.
The presscon will be held at the FPJ Museum at the ground floor of the main Mowelfund building on Rosario Drive, Cubao.
FAP Director-General Leo G. Martinez will be present through a video tape message.
FAP Day is expected to spell out the programs to achieve a revitalized and expanded Academy and, more importantly, a vibrant and united local motion picture industry.
Director-General Martinez has urged all the guilds of the Academy to further invigorate their recruitment of new members who will be admitted to their particular guilds on July 27. He added that it is about time that new members and leaders must now have more participation in the activities of the guilds.
The following guilds of filmmakers and film workers have been functioning under the Academy’s umbrella for more than 30 years now:
–The producers’ guilds: the PMPPA (Prodyuser ng mga Pelikulang Pilipino sa Asya, Inc. and MPDAP (Movie Producers & Distributors Association of the Philippines);
–The directors’ guild: PMPDA (Philippine Motion Picture Directors’ Association);
–The actors and actresses’ guild: KAPPT (Katipunan ng mga Artistang Pilipino sa Pelikula at Telebisyon);
–The scriptwriters’ guild: SGP (Screenwriters’ Guild of the Philippines);
