A sub-program of the 58th Berlin International Film Festival—the Berlinale Talent Campus—is inviting up-and-coming Filipino filmmakers to attend the event which is scheduled on February 9 to 14, 2008.
This is conveyed in a letter of Philippine Ambassador to Germany Delia Domingo-Albert addressed to the chairman of the Film Academy of the Philippines, Atty. Espridion Laxa.
The deadline for submission of applications for the Talent Campus is October 15, 2007.
The 58th Berlin Filmfest will be held from February 7 to 17, 2008.
The Berlinale Talent Campus is a sub-program for an emerging generation of filmmakers and provides up-and-coming film professionals from all areas of the film industry throughout the world with a unique opportunity to improve their skills by taking part in the Berlin International Filmfest.
In the letter, Ambassador Domingo-Albert explains: “The program of the 2008 Berlinale Talent Campus will focus on the theme Screening Emotions—Cinema’s Finest Assets. For the first time, visual artists are also invited to apply in addition to the regular roster of directors, producers, actors, cinematographers, screenwriters, editors, production designers, film composers, sound designers and film critics.”
The six-day program will explore the five crucial stages of filmmaking: philosophy, pre-production, production, post-production and promotion through a series of lectures, panel discussions, stars in the limelight, workshops, seminars, case studies and excursions.
