The induction of officers of the IFC (Philippine Indie Filmmakers Multi-Purpose Cooperative) was held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on Saturday, July 21, 2012. The ceremony coincided with the Cinemalaya 2012 screenings of entries.

IFC is a non-profit organization that aims to support the local indie filmmakers particularly in the budget department. For this purpose, they had organized the forum to give opportunity to filmmakers in pitching their projects to prospective producers.

The inductees were led by Chair Monster Jimenez and Vice Chair Albert Almendralejos. Incoming members of the board are Mario Guzman, Mike Kho Lim, Eman Dela Cruz and Paul Morales. Former chair Doy Del Mundo presided in the induction.

Direk Joey Javier Reyes was the first speaker who spoke at length on the budgeting of an indie vis-à-vis mainstream movie. Raymond Lee, producer of Kimmy Dora, focused on the marketability and ROI projections of the film.

Atty. Joji Alonso shared her experience in film producing. She also offered assistance to aspiring producers in getting investors. Arlene Cuevas lent her expertise in sourcing of funds thru international connections.

Present in the Film Financing Forum were 20 filmmakers who pitched their projects to an equal number of producers. Celebrated personalities present were Mother Lily and Girlie Rodis of Regal Films and Unitel’s Tony Gloria. Also seen was Director Paul Soriano.
