The various guilds of the Academy were represented by five citers each, except for the actors’ guild which will field 10 citers inasmuch as there are four categories for performances.
The citers will choose their citations from which the nominators will pick the five finalists in each of the 11 categories.
In the citers and nominators stage, guild members will be choosing for their particular categories. Thus, directors will choose the possible director nominees, scriptwriters will choose the possible scriptwriter nominees, and so forth down the line.
After the nominator made their final list of nominees, the voters will be previewing the nominated finalists but they will vote in all categories at this final stage.
See separate article on listing of possible nominees for each award category (except for performing categories).
