Ten scripts we chosen as the official entries in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines by a 13-man board of readers.
Those who were chosen for filming and showing during the Christmas film festival are the following:
– CM Films’ Batang Maynila (action/comedy and suspense) starring Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz and directed by Cesar Montano.
–Canary Films’ Pagkagat ng Dilim (horror) starring Rica Peralejo, Jennylyn Mercado, Pauleen Luna and Dingdong Dantes and directed By Joey Javier Reyes.
–OctoArts Films’ Enteng Kabisote 3 (fantasy) starring Vic Sotto and Kristine Hermosa and directed by Tony Reyes.
–Virgin Pictures’ Short Time (sex comedy) starring Rufa Mae Quinto, Rica Peralejo and Maui Taylor and directed by Joey Javier Reyes.
–Violett Films’ Tatlong Baraha (fantasy adventure) starring Lito Lapid, Mark Lapid, Cindy Curleto and Sarah Geronimo and directed by Tony Reyes.
–ABS-CBN Films’ Tanging Pamilya (comedy) starring Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga and directed by Joyce Bernal.
–ABS-CBN Films’ Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (romantic comedy) starring Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo and directed by Joey Javier Reyes.
–Regal Entertainment Inc.’s Shake, Rattle & Roll 8 (horror suspense) starring Kimpee de Leon, BJ Tolits Forbes and Izza Calzado and directed by Mike Tuvierra, Quark Henares and Ryan Carlos.
–Regal Entertainment Inc.’s Mano Po 5: Gua Ai Di (drama, love story, comedy) starring Dennis Trillo, Angel Locsin, Zsa-Zsa Padilla and Christopher de Leon and directed by Jun Lana.
–Regal Entertainment Inc.’s Zsa-Zsa Zaturna (fantasy comedy adventure) starring Rufa Mae Quinto, Ogie Alcasid, Allan K and Alfred Vargas and directed by Mark Meily.
Late reports said that one of the selected scripts had actually submitted their intention to back out of the competition even before the announcement of the selected scripts was announced.
The execom of the MMFFP 2006 will meet on Friday to discuss the necessary moves to fill up the possible vacancy.
