(Movie trivia writer Tante de Ramos this time came up with a short list of what he terms as titillating films. Here is his 25 films in this interesting genre.—JC)

Titillating films have always been there, following no season or trend. They are sometimes produced by established production companies and their fly-by-night counterparts. Here are some of those movies:

Akin Ka Lamang – This starred by Rita Magdalena, Von Serra, Brandon Ramirez and Amalia Jones. It was produced by Taurus Films.

Babae sa Breakwater – One of those films which turned out to be a serious work by one of the country’s serious filmmakers, Mario O’Hara. It shown at the Cannes Film Festival, at the India Filmfest and the Russia Filmfest in 2004. It was also an entry in the competition category of the CineManila. International Film Festival 2004 at Greenbelt, Makati City. The film starred Katherine Luna and Gardo Versoza and produced by Entertainment Warehouse, Inc.

Bawal – The film starred Aya Medel, Chanda Romero, Maria Isabel Lopez and Toffee Calma. The story revolves around two sisters played by Chanda. Their co-stars included Elizabeth Oropesa as the mother of three sons played by Gardo Versoza, Leo Rabago and Toffee who got involved with the sisters. Maria Isabel appeared as the boarder girlfriend of Gardo. This film was directed by Cesar Evangelista.

Boso – A mini-digital movie produced by Viva Films, this film made theb rounds of digital cinemahouses. The films starred Allen Dizon and Katya Santos as the newlywed couple in the movie, Gwen Garcia played a tenant who had a penchant of dancing naked in her room and Jeffrey Santos in the lead character of a peeping Tom. The director was Jon Red A.K.A. Juan Pula.

Bridal Shower – An entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival which featured a equal number of sizzling scenes and comedy sequences. The film starred Dina Bonnevie, Francine Prieto, Cherry Pie Picache, Christian Vasquez, Alfred Vargas, Douglas Robinson, Juancho Valentino, Rodel Velayo and Abby Gasser. It was directed by Jeffrey Jeturian for Seiko Films

Company of Women – A film directed by Mel Chionglo and shown during an exclusive run at the Film Center, it starred Mark Gil and Liz Alindogan who had some smoldering love scenes.

Hubad Na Katotohanan – This starred Fernando Montenegro and Isabel Reyes and produced by Eastern Films.

Kagat – It starred Jestoni Alarcon, Mahalia Mendez and Ginoong Pangasinan ’95 winner then Ginoong Filipinas ’95 finalist Fernando Montenegro. The movie was produced by Robbie Tan of Seiko Films.

Kainan sa Highway – The movie’s highlight was an erotic lovescene involving two women and ten men. The stars included Maye Tongco, Nikka Madrid, Ryan Muñoz, Mark Dionisio and the Milkmen.

Madame X – The movie starred Ina Raymundo right after her breakthrough movie Burlesk Queen Ngayon. Her co-stars included Robert Arevalo, Gary Estrada, Alvin Anson and Pinky Amador. It was produced by FLT Films International.

Nang Mamulat si Eba – This movie starred Rossana Roces, Anton Bernardo, Deborah Carpio and Franco Zobel. It was produced by Seiko Films and directed by Rico Mambo (or Abbo dela Cruz in real life).

Sa Pagitan ng Langit – The film starred by Raja Montero, Nika Madrid, Alick Concepcion and Shanghai. It was directed by Cesar SB Abella and produced by LUV Films.

Scorpio Nights – One of the classic films in the gewnre of erotica, this film came out in 1985 and became an entry to the Toronto International Film Festival. This film starred Daniel Fernando and Orestes Ojeda. The film was directed by Peque Gallaga who went to the Toronto Filmfest with directors Lore Reyes and Uro Q. Dela Cruz.

Selos – This film starred by Cherry Madrigal and Bobby Benitez now an assistant director. They have a sizzling scene here taken in a raft.

Sex Scandals – The cast of this movie included Isabella Gomez, Dana Carel, Anne Borromeo, Allen Dizon, Gerald Laurion. JP Obligacion. The film was directed by Francis ‘Jun’ Posadas for Sacramento Films and was released thru Angora Films.

Sinful Nights – The movie starred Nadine Schmidt, Jenine Desiderio, Jon Hall and Chris Villanueva. It was the initial offering of Green Light Entertainment which was written and directed by Joven Tan.

Sulyap – The film starred Alma Soriano, Isabel Reyes, Fernando Montenegro, Jeffrey Gonzales and Lukas Estrada. It was produced by Shangten Films, a sister company of El Niño Films.

Tatlo Magkasalo – The cast included Ara Mina and Rita Avila who had
a love scene. The two actresses agreed to a torrid kissing scene after Director Carlos Siguion-Reyna justified that this is a vital scene in the film. It was produced by Reyna Films.

Toro – This film starred Ana Capri, Klaudia Koronel and Hazel Espinosa, three of the hottest bold actresses at that time. As the title suggested, it was about the milieu of sex performers before live audiences.

Walang Katapusang Init – The film starred Rustom Padilla who violently kidnapped a married woman (played by Daisy Reyes) from her husband played by Allan Paule. It was directed by Joey Romero for Regal Entertainment Inc.

Xerex: The Series – This trilogy starred Aubrey Miles, Jenine Desiderio, Stella L, John Apacible, Simon Ibarra, Gerald Lauron and John Hall. Ity was directed by Erik Matti for X2 Productions.
