A total of 19 screenplays were submitted to vie for 10 slots in the forthcoming Metro Manila Film Festival-Philippines 2006.

The scripts were submitted before the deadline at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 15, even as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, which is supervising the MMFFP 2006, decided not to extend the deadline for submission of screenplays.

The screening committee will come up with their decision on May 30, 2006.

The submitted screenplays are the following:

l. Batang Maynila (action/comedy/suspense) starring Cesar Montano and Sunshine Cruz and directed by Cesar Montano for CM Films.

2. Someone Who Cares (drama/romance) starring Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo and directed by Elwood Perez for Earth Moving Pictures.

3. Bidasari (drama) starring Sid Lucero and Catherine Luna and directed by Mario O’Hara for JMCM Productions.

4. Pagkagat ng Dilim (horror) starring Rica Peralejo, Jennylyn Mercado, Pauleen Luna and Dingdong Dantes and directed by Joey Javier Reyes for Canary Films.

5. Enteng Kabisote 3 (fantasy) starring Vic Sotto and Kristine Hermosa and directed by Tony Reyes for OctoArts Films.

6. Short Time (sex comedy) starring Rufa Mae Quinto, Rica Peralejo and Maui Taylor and directed by Joey Javier Reyes for Virgin Pictures.

7. Tatlong Baraha (fantasy adventure) starring Lito Lapid, Mark Lapid, Cindy Kurleto and Sarah Geronimo and directed by Tony Reyes for Violett Films.

8. Super Kulas (comedsy fantasy) starring Ogie Alcasid (or Michael V or Janno Gibbs) and Izza Calzado (or Gelli de Belen or Carmina Villaroel) and directed by Edgardo ‘Boy’ Vinarao for Ideal Concept.

9. Inang Yaya (drama) starring Maricel Soriano and directed by Pablo Biglangawa for Unitel Pictures.

10. Blackout (suspense thriller) starring Robin Padilla and Izza Calzado and directed by Ato Bautista for Unitel Pictures.

11. Tanging Pamilya (comedy) starring Vhong Navarro and Toni Gonzaga and directed by Joyce Bernal for ABS-CBN Films.

12. Huwag Kang Lilingon (horror) starring Marvin Agustin, Kristine Hermosa and Anne Curtis and directed by Jerry L. Sineneng and Quark Henares for ABS-CBN Films.

13. Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo (romance/comedy) starring Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo and directed by Joey Javier Reyes for ABS-CBN Films.

14. No Other Love (drama) starring Eddie Garcia, Angelica Panganiban, Pauleen Luna, Boots Anson Roa and Gloria Romero and directed by Joel Lamangan for MAQ Productions.

15. Super Noypi (action adventure) starring Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Jacky Rice, John Pratts and Marky Cielo and directed by Quark Henares for MAQ Productions.

16. Shake, Rattle & Roll 8 (horror suspense) starring Kimpee de Leon, BJ Tolits Forbes and Izza Calzado and directed by Mike Tuviera, Quark Henares and Ryan Carlos for Regal Entertainment Inc.

17. Mano Po 5 Gua Ai Di (drama, love story, comedy) starring Dennis Trillo, Angel Locsin, Zsa-Zsa Padilla and Christopher de Leon and directed by Jun Lana for Regal Entertainment Inc.

18. Zsa Zsa Zaturna (fantasy/comedy/adventure) starring Rufa Mae Quinto, Ogie Alcasid, Allan K and Alfred Vargas and directed by Mark Meily for Regal Entertainment Inc.

19. Habang May Pangarap (drama) starring Eddie Garcia, Gloria Romero and Boots Anson Roa and directed by Joven Tan for Games We Play, Inc.
