The Ilocos Norte Film Festival, a joint project of the Film Development Council of the Philippines and Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee R. Marcos, released its schedule of activities.
October 25 (Tuesday)
Screenings of the four festival films will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Mariano Marcos State University’s Teatro Ilocandia and at 10:30 a.m. at Robin-son’s Cinema 3. The films will include Kinatay (by Brilliante Mendoza), Ded na si Lolo (by Soxie Topacio), Condo (by Martin Cabrera) and Emir (by Chito Rono).
After the arrival of guests and resource persons at the Laoag airport, a motorcade will bring them to the governor’s office at the capitolio. FDCP Chairman Briccio Santos and Gov. Imee Marcos will deliver messages to start the courtesy call.
During the courtesy call, the directors of the four films and their companions—Larry Castillo, Henry Burgos and Mark Joseph Griswold of Kinatay, Marian Oandasan of Condo and Francheska Farr of Emir—will be presented together with Film Academy of the Philippines Director-General Leo G. Martinez and Ms. Marinel de la Cruz of the Phil. Daily Inquirer.
An omnibus audio-visual presentation of the festival films will also be presented.
October 26 (Wednesday)
A workshop will be held at the training center room of the Mariano Marcos State University from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Meanwhile, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., screenings will be held to be followed by an open forum.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Director-General Martinez will conduct the workshop.
An awards and recognition night will be held at the Malacanang of the North starting at 6 p.m.
FDCP Chairman Santos will deliver a message and confer a plaque of appeciation to Gov. Marcos. Then the governor will deliver her response and award a plaque to Chairman Santos in return.
Plaques will also be conferred to the participating filmmakers and guests.
