The Board of Governors of the Film Academy of the Philippines has elected Roberto Arevalo as its new deputy director-general and re installed Manny Morfe as treasurer in a meeting last Wednesday, July 27.
Arevalo and Morfe will serve a three-year term up to July 2014. Arevalo, who replaced Wilson Tieng, president of MPDAP. Is also an adviser of the Academy together with National Artist for Film Eddie Romero.
The new deputy director-general ran undisputed as he was the sole candidate nominated for the position. Morfe won in absentia over Ramon Ramos of MPDAP by a lone vote margin.

Isabel Sebullen, Screenwriters’ Guild of the Philippines president; Isagani Sioson, Filipino Society of Cinematographers president; Jesus M. Navarro, United Film Editors Guild of the Philippines president; Josefino Cenizal, United Film Musical Directors Association of the Philippines president;
Rollie Ruta, Motion Picture Audio Society of the Philippines Inc. president;Joel Apuyan, Assistant Directors & Production Managers Association for Motion Pictures, Inc. president; Marivic Limbo, representing Prodyuser ng mga Pelikulang Pilipino sa Asya, Inc.; Ramon Ramos, representing Motion Producers Distributors Association of the Philippines.
