Producers and film companies have until May 30, 2005 to submit their letters of intent to participate in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival Philippines.
The executive committee of the MMFFP 2005 has set this important deadline, together with other deadlines for activities concerning this year’s event which will feature 10 entries—three of which will start showing on January 1, 2006.
The execom also set a May 27 deadline for resource persons and film industry members, including producers, to send their comments, suggestions and/or recommendations regarding the revised draft of the MMFFP 2005 rules and regulations.
The execom will deliberate on the submitted comments, suggestions and recommendations to come up with the final version of the rules and regulations.
The major points of the revised draft include:
The participation of 10 entries.
The selection of seven entries on the basis of screenplays with the remaining three entries on the basis of finished prints or films.
No limitation on film entries by a movie company or any individual movie producer.
Limitation of one entry for a film director.

May 30, 2005 —Deadline for submission of letters of intent and application forms.
June 15, 2005 —Deadline for submission of scripts.
July 15, 2005 —Announcement of the seven best screenplays (1st batch).
November 15, 2005 —Deadline for submission of trailers for the 1st batch of official entries.
November 21, 2005 —Deadline for submission of the finished films created from the best seven screenplays (1st batch).
December 1, 2005 —Deadline for submission of finished film entries (2nd batch).
December 2-5, 2005 —Screening of the second batch of entries.
December 5, 2005 —Announcement of the three winning films from the 2nd batch of entries.
December 10, 2005 —Deadline for submission of trailers for 2nd batch of entries.
December 17-20, 2005 —Screening of the 10 official entries by the Board of Jurors.
December 10-23, 2005 —Motorcades and other festival activities (provincial film festival activities to be announced later).
December 24, 2005 —Parade of Stars (big event).
December 25, 2005 to January 6, 2006 —Showing of the 1st batch of entries.
December 29, 2005 —MMFFP Awards Night.
January 1, 2006 —Showing of the 2 nd batch of entries.
