Citers for the 29TH Luna Awards of the Film Academy of the Philippines will resume previewing films on Monday, January 10 after going over 18 films before the holiday break last year.
With seven or eight more films to be previewed, the citers are on track to come up with their list of ten films to vie for possible nominations in the Academy’s 12 award categories by mid-January.
The second tier of previewers, the nominators, will have a timetable of January 20 to February 5 to evaluate the 10 or so films selected by the citers. As in previous years, peers will be judging peers, meaning director-citers or nominators will consider works of directors while scriptwriter-citers or nominators will pick the possible nominees for best screenplay for 2010. And so forth down the line of film artists and technicians.
Scheduled to be reviewed are Hating Kapatid, Karera, My Amnesia Girl, Till My Heartaches End, White House and You to Me are Everything.
The citers were given season passes for the last Metropolitan Manila Film Festival-Philippines (MMFFP) to review the possible films that might merit nominations.
The entries in the last MMFFP included: Si Agimat at Si Enteng Kabisote of Tony Y. Reyes (GMA Films/OctoArts Films/M-Zet Production Inc./APT Entertainment/Imus Productions, Inc.); Dalaw of Dondon S.
