SOME TELEVISION CLASSICS WORTH WATCHING by Gabriel the Messenger  |  Posted in Articles  |  on Fri, Jan 7, 2011

She was talking to GTM and she was referring to a television na may legal cable connection. Ayos! Legal cable connection, important yun.

Pero teka lang, is it going to be worth GTM’s time? Sabi nga nila ay, “time is gold” kaya naman nag-isip si GTM kung ok lang bang gamitin ang kanyang time para ito ay panoorin? After a few seconds, naghanap ng ibang palabas si GTM. Mukhang nag decide siya na it was not worth his time watching this old TV series.

Ayan po ang tanong natin for today. Are old TV series not worth watching?

At para kay GTM, some old television shows are classics. Using your precious time.

Here are some of the television shows which GTM consider as classics.

Combat (TV Series 1962-1967)

A one-hour WWII drama series on television, followed a frontline American infantry squad as it battled its way across Europe. With mud-splattered realism, the show offered character studies of men striving to maintain their own humanity in the midst of a world torn by war. Release Date:2 October 1962 (USA).

Siyempre, in the end ay nanalo ang bida. Pero exciting talaga yun. Isang tangke laban yata sa isang tao.

Mission Impossible (September 1966 to March 1973)

An American television series which was created and initially produced by Bruce Geller. It chronicled the missions of a team of secret American government agents known as the Impossible Missions Force (IMF). The leader of the team was Jim Phelps, played by Peter Graves, except in the first season, during which the leader was Dan Briggs, played by Steven Hill. A hallmark of the series shows Phelps receiving his instructions on a tape that then self destructs, accompanied by the iconic theme music composed by Lalo Schifrin. The series aired on the CBS network from September 1966 to March 1973. It returned to television, as a revival, for two seasons on ABC, from 1988 to 1990 and later inspired a popular trio of theatrical motion pictures starring Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames in the 1990s and 2000s, with the role of Phelps played by Jon Voight.

It was in the form of a flying saucer, at tama po, hindi nag-lakad ang remote operated robot. Ito ay lumilipad. During that time, imposible pa yata yun.

Wild Wild West (1965-1969)
The TV show was a 60 minute western action series on CBS that was like no other. Special Agents James West and Artemus Gordon were spies for President Ulysses S. Grant shortly after the civil war. In every other way, they could be easily confused with James Bond of the 20th century. They had a “high-tech” (for its day) railroad car stocked with a compliment of advanced weapons. James West especially seemed to woo every beautiful woman he encountered. The agents’ typical mission involved saving the United States from some disaster or from being taken over by some evil genius.

Who will ever forget the most famous villain na si Doctor Lovely.
