The Nagkakaisang Manggagawa ng Pelikulang Pilipino (NMPP) will elect its new board of directors on Saturday, November 7, at the Amoranto Sports Complex auditorium on Roces Avenue, Q.C.
Voting will start after the annual general assembly which is expected to adjourn shortly after high noon.
All those listed in the master NMPP roster of members for 2010 will be allowed to vote.
The incumbent officers and members of the NMPP board are the following:
President –Director Joel Lamangan
Chairman of the Board –Director Maning Borlaza
Vice-President for External Affairs –Director Carlitos Siguion-Reyna
Vice-President for Internal Affairs –Richard Gomez
Treasurer –Director Mel Chionglo
Board of Directors Rez Cortez
Director Tony Y. Reyes
Director Gina Alajar
Director Soxie Topacio
Director Baldo Marro
The fifteenth board director was Director Tony Bernal who passed away during his term. The three working committees are composed of the following:
Membership—Rez Cortez, chairperson; Baldo Marro, Josie Tagle and Dick Israel, members. Ways and Means—International: Soxie Topacio, chairperson; Carlos Siguion Reyna and Joel Lamangan, members. National: Tony Reyes, chairperson; Amay Bisaya, member.
Sectoral Concerns—Gina Alajar, chairperson; Manny Morfe and Soxie Topacio, members. Just like the two previous elections, the members will elect fifteen board directors. The winning directors will elect among themselves the officers— namely the chairman of the board, president, vice-president for external affairs, vp for internal affairs and treasurer.
Expected to cast their ballots are members of the formal and informal sectors of the local movie industry.
The formal sectors include the various guilds of actors, directors, scriptwriters, cinematographers, editors, production designers, musical directors, sound technicians, assistant directors and production managers.
The informal sectors are associations made up of the following: stuntmen; extras and talents; talent coordinators; talent managers; shooting unit crew members; production design crew; wardrobe; make-up artists; special effects crew; still photographers; schedule masters or legmen; utility men; post-production crew; dubbers; checkers; lagaristas; bookers and projectionists.
