The Filipino Society of Cinematographers will hold a digital-video seminar-workshop for three consecutive weekends next January for its members and interested new cameramen and directors in line with the Film Academy ‘s education program.
Isagani F. Sioson, FSC president, said the seminar-workshop will be funded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Film Academy .
The seminar-workshop is tentatively slated to start on January 21 and 22 and the following weekends of January 28-29 and February 5-6. The venue is the FAP office at the Octoarts building, Panay st., Quezon City .
Sioson said all interested persons may apply at 3 p.m. on January 11 and 18 at the FSC office at the FAP. He added that at least 15 or more members of the FSC will attend the seminar-workshop as participants.
Though the main subject of the seminar is digital cinematography, digital film directing and editing will also be taken up, with prominent directors as resource speakers, Sioson explained.
He said that the FSC will seek the NCCA’s assistance and funding on the next phase of their project which is to produce a low-budget digital feature film, also scheduled for next year, which will involve the participants of the digital-video seminar-workshop, under the supervision of the FSC.
This was brought about by the NCCA decision on the original FSC proposal for a combined seminar and output-production project wherein the NCCA officials advised the FSC to break their proposal into two. The first phase of the project is the seminar-workshop slated in January. Sioson said he will be forwarding the digital film production project to the NCCA after the seminar.
