Ronnie Ricketts, the newly-appointed chairman of the Optical Media Board (OMB) paid a courtesy call to the Film Academy last Wednesday, December 16. FAP Director General Leo Martinez welcomed Chairman Ricketts who came with Dinky Doo, Jr.
The amiable chairman is injecting some sensible changes in his office. “Yung flag ceremony, ibinalik ko kaya medyo natuwa naman sila,” Ricketts said about the people in his agency. Having inherited the previous workforce, the chairman is careful not to rock the boat.
At this early, the vice-less chairman has been receiving threats on his life. “Expected ko naman,” he admitted. That was the same problem of Bong Revilla and Edu Manzano, the predecessors of Ricketts.
On a different topic, Ricketts is a bit saddened that KAPPT (Kapisanan ng Artista sa Pelikulang Pilipino at Telebisyon) has no major activities. Whereas before there was the Star Olympics, KAPPT has nothing for the record this year. Ricketts was the president of KAPPT before German Moreno.

Hearing of the party list – AMS (Alyansa ng Media at Showbiz)—Ricketts is glad that some people are doing something. He is hoping that the party list would win and that it would work for the betterment of the industry.
And for the Film Academy, Ricketts is giving his full support to find ways in reviving the movie industry. “Andito lang ako ha?” he reminded everyone.
