The Film Academy of the Philippines has requested officials of embassies with Manila or Philippine offices to advise film producers from their corresponding countries to avail of assistance from the Academy regarding film projects the producers intend to shoot here.

FAP Director General Leo G. Martinez explained that the Academy has been receiving confirmed reports that foreign producers have faced manpower, technical and all sorts of problems while pursuing their film projects in the country.

He added that the Academy can provide even the manpower requirements of the foreign producers inasmuch as it is the umbrella organization of several working guilds whose membership rolls include local directors, actors and actresses, scriptwriters, cinematographers, production designers, editors, sound technicians, musical scorers and other talents necessary for film production.

Listed below are the organizations and guilds under the umbrella supervision of the Academy:

The Katipunan ng mga Artistang Pilipino sa Pelikula at Telebisyon, Inc. (Actors Guild of the Philippines).

The Philippine Motion Picture Directors Association (PMPDA).

The Screenwriters Guild of the Philippines (SGP).

The Filipino Society of Cinematographers (FSC).

The United Film Editors’ Guild of the Philippines (UFEG).

The Production Designers Guild of the Philippines (PDGP).

The United Film Musical Directors Association of the Philippines (UFIMDAP).

The Motion Picture Audio Society of the Philippines (MPASP).

The Assistant Directors & Production Managers Association for Motion Pictures, Inc. (ADPM).

The other organizations under the FAP are the MOWELFUND, the Prodyuser ng mga Pelikulang Pilipino sa Asya, Inc. (PMPPA), the Movie Producers, Distributors Association of the Philippines (MPDAP), the Organization of Specialized Filipino Filmmakers (OSFILM) and the Actors Workshop Foundation (on leave).

The Academy can also assist the film producers in their official transactions with both government and non-government agencies in the country, Martinez said.
