Twelve down. Seventeen films to go.

After their sixth day of screening of 2008 films to choose the possible nominees for the 27th Luna Awards, the citers still have 17 more films to preview as of Wednesday, May 6.

The 12 films already screened were One True Love (Regal Films/GMA Films); One Night Only (Canary Films); Ploning (Panoramanila Pictures); I.T.A.L.Y. (GMA Films/Viva Films); Baler (Viva Films); My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend (Regal Enterainment/GMA Films); Serbis (CenterStage Productions); Iskul Bukol (OctoArts Films); For the First Time (Star Cinema); 100 (Martinez-Rivera Films); My Only You (Star Cinema) and Torotot (Viva Films).

Citers at FAP screening

The venue for the whole screening process is the Film Academy of the Philippines office at OctoArts building on Panay avenue and films are screened every Monday, Wednesday and Friday up to May 27.

The citers are expected to come up with their list of at least 10 nominees in their categories. As usual, the film workers will be selecting nominees in their specific line of work—meaning actors will rate actors, directors will rate directors and so forth.

After the citers, the nominators will take over and review the list the citers had come up with. The nominators will trim the list down to the final five (or so) nominees. The voters will then review the films with nominations and vote on the best for the year 2008. Voters, unlike the citers and nominators, will be voting in all categories.

Meanwhile, the FAP Secretariat released the complete viewing schedule for the citers:

May 11 (Mon)—Pisay (Seiko Films) and Concerto (Solito Arts Prod./Seiko Films)

May 13 (Wed)—When Love Begins (Star Cinema) and Caregiver (Star Cinema/Viva Films)

May 15 (Fri)—Urduja (Regal Entertainment/APT Entertainment) and A Very Special love (Star Cinema/Viva Films)

May 18 (Mon)—Ang Tanging Ina Nyong Lahat (Star Cinema) and Magkaibigan (Maverick Films)

May 20 (Wed)—Paupahan (AD Product ion) and Dayo (Cutting Edge Productions)

May 22 (Fri)—Kulam (Regal Entertainment) and Desperadas 2 (Regal Entertainment)

May 25 (Mon)—Dobol Trobol (APT Entertainment/RVQ Films/ M-Zet Films) and Shake, Rattle and Roll 10 (Regal Entertainment)

May 27 (Wed)—Ikaw Pa Rin (Viva Films).
