The Actors’ Guild or the Kapisanan ng mga Artistang Pilipino sa Pelikula at Telebisyon (KAPPT) has relocated its office to the Mowelfund Plaza but even as it sets its new office in order, the guild is yet to finally elect its new set of officers.

The guild had occupied its Sampaguita Studios compound office during the terms of Edu Manzano, Ronnie Ricketts, German Moreno and Pagsanjan Mayor Jeorge E.R. Ejercito Estregan.

Last December 27 during the guild’s Christmas party which was held also in MOWELFUND, eight incumbent directors, including Mayor Ejercito Estregan, were re-elected while seven new directors, led by actor Philip Salvador also won seats for the 15-member board of directors.

The 15 elected directors will vote among themselves for six positions, namely, president, chairman of the board, vice-president for internal affairs, vice-president for external affairs, secretary and treasurer.

Aside from Mayor Estregan, those re-elected included chairman Vic Felipe, vice-president for esdternal affairs Amay Bisaya, and directors Rez Cortez, Baldo Marro, Dick Israel, Tirso Cruz III and Rey Solo.

New directors like Philip Salvador were Gina Alajar, Jestoni Alarcon, Patrick de la Rosa, Joko Diaz, Lyn Madrigal and Josie Tagle.

But the new board is set to discuss the election of Ms. Tagle who was in the 15th place as there is a need to include a representative from the category C members. The 16th placer was Pol Pepito.

Incumbent directors who lost in the elections or did not run anymore were vice-president for internal affairs Conrad Poe, secretary Criz Daluz, treasurer Pamela Amor, Vice-Mayor Herbert Bautista, Efren Reyes Jr., Lucy Quinto and Niño Muhlach.

Outgoing president Estregan (whose real name is Emilio Ramon Pelayo Ejercito III) is on his third consecutive term as the mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna. A son of the late George Estregan, E. R. became popular for his villain roles though his dream role, up to this day, is to play the late Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. He was the eighth KAPPT president.
