Year 2004 is almost over and the Film Academy is already deep in preparation for the Awards Night in April 2005.

The Film Academy Citers recently came up with the list of cited films shown during the first 3 quarters of 2004. The 90 Citers, coming from different guilds, picked their choices in 7 categories – Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing, Sound, Music and Production Design.

Cited in all 7 categories: MILAN and SABEL.
Milan, entirely shot in Italy, was shown early this year while Sabel, starring Judy Ann Santos, was an entry in the Manila Film Festival.

Cited in 6 categories: FENG SHUI, KULIMLIM and NOW THAT I HAVE YOU.
Feng Shui is a thriller with Kris Aquino in the lead role. Kulimlim has Robin Padilla, also an entry in the Manila Film Festival. Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz head the cast of the romantic Now That I Have You.

Aga Muhlach and Kristine Hermosa are the stars of All My Life, a romantic and tragic travelogue of a movie.

Cited in 4 categories: I WILL SURVIVE and NAGLALAYAG.
Nora Aunor and Yul Servo provided the May-December love affair in Naglalayag, an entry to the Manila Film Festival. I Will Survive is a story about crisis in life with Judy Ann Santos and Eric Quizon among the survivors.

A sex-comedy starred by Ara Mina, Aubrey Miles and Angel Locsin.

Cited in 1 category: ANAK KA NG TATAY MO , ANIMAL , ANNIE B ., KIROT SA DIBDIB , KUYA , MANO MANO 3 , MASIKIP SA DIBDIB , OTSO-OTSO , SINFUL NIGHTS and U-BELT.

The films shown during the last quarter are currently being screened by the citers to last until the last movie to be shown for the year.

All cited films for 2004 will be subjected to the strict evaluation and deliberation of the 40 Nominators who come from different fields in the movie industry. The Nominators is a select group composed of former nominees in major award-giving bodies.

The final list of outstanding films as decided by the Nominators will undergo the FAP voting system. The 270 Voters who come from all the guilds will select the winners of the Academy Award statuette.
